The supporting roles of James Bond replica Omega watches

Latest Omega Replica Spectre for sale-The latest James Bond movie, Spectre, is different to its predecessors: it puts Omega replica uk on a par with Rolex as the most frequently worn 007 watch. Between the two, a wealth of interim brands enjoyed screen time without managing to win James’ favor.

James_Bond_watchesIt’s become something of a generation gap. For the over 40s, James Bond is synonymous with Rolex. But for younger fans, 007 is inseparable from Omega. So who’s right, and who’s wrong? For the first time in the history of the famous secret agent, the answer is no one! Spectre, the latest Bond blockbuster, takes the number of films featuring an Omega up to eight, which is exactly the same as Rolex. The Swatch Group soothsayers are keen to see this as proof that Omega is finally on a par with Rolex!

An American in the ring

In this clash of the titans, several brands have attempted to work their way into The Queen of England’s circle of glory. Without much success, on the whole. And for good reason—some of them have simply disappeared from the fake Rolex watchmaking scene.

James_Bond_watches_1Gruen is one such example. The unlucky little American brand battled it out for almost a decade, from the first Bond movie, Dr. No, in 1962, until Diamonds Are Forever in 1971. The brand was chosen in pre-production for two reasons: its 510 watch with small seconds looked good on screen and—most importantly for a producer—it was affordable and could thus be replaced at minimal cost! The watch survived eight movies, until it was ousted by Rolex. All this belongs to Bond (pre)history, when watches were selected for what they offered rather than for who produced them.

Two cameos by Breitling and Hamilton

In 1965, Breitling replica watches sale made its only cameo appearance in 50 years when its Top Time graced the wrist of Sean Connery in Thunderball. The timepiece was only in production for 10 years (1960-1969) and was intended as an entry-level watch, more affordable than the already established Navitimer model. Half a century later, and nothing much has changed: it’s still one of today’s lowest-priced vintage Breitlings.

James_Bond_watches_2Another Bond watch cameo came from Hamilton, whose one and only 007 timepiece, the Pulsar, caused quite a stir. Why? Because it was the first quartz watch with digital display to ever feature in a Bond movie, and because it was the first time Roger Moore took on the role of the secret agent. Production of the timepiece began in 1970 with a gold-plated version at $1,500 and continued until 1978, when Seiko acquired the Pulsar name. They still own it today, which is why, when Hamilton reissued a tribute to the original piece, it was named “Pulsomatic” rather than “Pulsar”.

The Seiko offensive

The arrival of quartz meant that Seiko was destined to become an official purveyor to Mr. Bond, slipping neatly in between the end of the Rolex era (The Man with the Golden Gun) and the start of the Omega empire (Goldeneye, worn by Pierce Brosnan in 1995).

The Japanese company held the top spot for almost 10 years, taking full advantage of its technological head-start in miniature electronics to equip Roger Moore with a telex watch followed by a ticker-tape watch. Neither was released for sale, but no matter: the gadget watch modified by Q was at its zenith. Thirsty for more screen time, Seiko didn’t stop there and even managed to place a few diving Omega Replica Spectre watches to rival the Submariners of the time.

James_Bond_watches_3A little known fact is that TAG Heuer also managed to sneak onto Bond’s wrist using the same approach: two diving replica watches, one Professional Night-Diver and one Professional 200 Meters, surreptitiously placed in The Living Daylights. Given their current form, this constitutes a highly unusual undersea assignment for TAG Heuer.

Porsche and Chopard replica watches wins LeMans 24 hours

What does LeMans 24 hours, Porsche and Chopard replica watches share? Winning, as it turns out.

resizePorsche claimed their 17th victory at the 83rd edition of LeMans 24 hours race which took place saturday the 13th of june. That makes them not only a very successful team but also the most successful team in the history of the French endurance race. This replica watches team was also their 17th pole position, the most recent one dates back to 1997. Worth to mention is that Porsche started from position one, two and three on the grid and finished both first and second. Amazing result to say the least!

resize-1The winning team Porsche #19 consisted of Earl Bamber, Nico Hülkenberg and Nick Tandy. You might recognize Nico Hülkenberg from his ”day job” in F1 team Force India. The team wore the beautiful Replica Chopard Superfast Power Control on their wrist during the race.

Replica Chopard Superfast Power ControlThe Superfast Power Control is in my opinion not only a great Omega replica look race chronometer but also a tool to use for racing. Inside is the in-house developed movement calibre 01.02-M with a 60 hour power reserve which is certified for COSC. On the dial is a very race looking power indicator and notably a very big ”12” in race font.

Replica Panerai’s “modern-day classics”

At Replica Watches&Wonders in Hong Kong, the Florentine firm trained the spotlight on its RADIOMIR 1940, which took its first steps in 2013, with the introduction of a new movement and first-time complications to what is Panerai’s most understated line.

Panerai replica watches

If there is one word Angelo Bonati loathes above all, that word is “banalisation”. History with a capital H has made Panerai replica watches uk what they are – totally atypical diving “instruments” – so why change a winning formula? A single founding principle split between two product families. End of. Selective distribution, coherent product development, communication… the world of Panerai revolves entirely around Lumior and Radiomir. Any attempt to stray from this path would immediately come up against a brick wall. Angelo Bonati defends this approach: “We did try to introduce changes, particularly in our dials, but it didn’t work. So it’s easy to understand why anything that might interfere with the Panerai image is strictly prohibited.”

The Paneristi, the brand’s most devoted admirers, simply wouldn’t allow it. Like the tifosi who would sell their Alfa Romeo if it meant tickets to the match, the Florentine firm is probably the only watchmaker to have succeeded in surrounding itself with a community of fans whose passion is so great they would walk on water if they thought the Panerai of their dreams was waiting on the opposite bank. Theirs is a well-organised community with its own forums and a growing membership. In fact its ramifications have spread well beyond the Po to reach China, where Panerai has the dubious honour of being one of the most copied replica watch brands. “You could say it’s the price of success,” says Angelo Bonati, “even though counterfeiting is detrimental to the brand’s image. We can always console ourselves with the thought that the people who knowingly buy a fake Panerai will never count among our customers. They are not the ones we’re in Hong Kong to meet. Watches&Wonders gives us a unique opportunity to talk with real fans in the region who are clearly interested in what we do.”

A “wearable” case

With them in mind, Panerai came to Hong Kong with its fair share of new models, for the most part extensions to the Radiomir 1940 line, introduced two years ago and which doubtless inspired art historian Philippe Daverio for these words: “Only a rare few objects from the first half of the twentieth century have succeeded in withstanding fashion’s trends. Those which have have done far more than simply illustrate a period and its specificities: they have been instrumental in defining them. They are now archetypes, rooted in the collective conscience. This is what is happening with Panerai’s Florentine watches. They are modern-day classics.” Such a style is clearly reflected in the Radiomir 1940 case, which is evidence of how the brand’s products evolved between 1930 and 1950. It retains the cushion shape of the original Radiomir from 1936, but replaces the wire lugs with those to be found on the Luminor 1950 models (which adopted the trademark crown-guard). In addition to this classic style that has every chance of seducing Asian customers, the case has been slimmed to a 42mm size so as to better fit their wrist. And perhaps also to attract women Breitling replica watch-buyers who currently account for just 10% of Panerai’s customers.

This particular line-up includes a hand-wound Radiomir 1940 equipped with the new P.1000 calibre, which features a seconds reset function and a three-day power reserve delivered by twin barrels. There is also a self-winding version driven by the P.4000 calibre. Joining them are two models with complications that Panerai has previously introduced in other collections, namely a GMT with ten-day power reserve (Calibre P2003/10) in 45mm and 48mm versions, and a GMT Tourbillon, better known as Lo Scienziato (P.2005/S skeleton calibre). In keeping with its policy to release the occasional limited edition, Panerai is also presenting two special editions of 300 units each of its Luminor 1950 3 Days 47mm in titanium. A table clock with a classic Panerai dial beneath a mineral glass sphere adds the finishing touch. A reminder that it never hurts to break with convention from time to time…

Oscar winner Christoph Waltz presents first Filmmaker award at IWC replica gala event

Oscar winner Christoph Waltz presented the first-ever Filmmaker Award last night. From the four nominated films, the jury picked two winners: “Und morgen seid ihr tot” (“Tomorrow You’ll Be Dead”) and “Europe, She Loves”. The presentation took place at the IWC gala dinner held as part of the 11th Zurich Film Festival, to which the Swiss luxury replica watches manufacturer had invited some 200 VIP guests from the worlds of film, media, art, politics and commerce. The award, worth CHF 100,000 in sponsorship, was set up by the Association for the Promotion of Film in Switzerland, which was co-founded by IWC CEO Georges Kern.

Christoph Waltz shot to fame with roles in “Inglourious Basterds” and “Django Unchained” by the Breitling replica watches American cult director Quentin Tarantino. The two-time Academy Award winner was in Zurich last night to present the first-ever Filmmaker Award during the IWC gala dinner, which celebrated the theme “For the Love of Cinema”. The sponsorship award set up by the Association for the Promotion of Film in Switzerland (Verein zur Filmförderung in der Schweiz) is worth CHF 100,000 and is intended to give specifically designed support to promising film projects which are in the production or post-production stages. “I am proud to be here in person to present this award, which is very important for the Swiss film industry. Providing sponsorship for filmmakers is a necessary and relevant task, one which makes a significant contribution to the diversity of Swiss film,” said Waltz.

Two winners were picked from the four nominees. The main prize of CHF 75,000 went to producers Bernhard Burgener and Norbert Preuss and to director Michael Steiner for their project “Und morgen seid ihr tot”. The film tells the true story of two Swiss citizens, Daniela Widmer and David Och, who were kidnapped by the Taliban in Pakistan in July 2011 and succeeded in making a spectacular escape after eight months spent in captivity. Shooting is planned to start in February 2016. The film will be directed by Michael Steiner, known for his works “Mein Name ist Eugen” and “Grounding”. In addition, a prize of CHF 25,000 was awarded to producer Lisa Blatter from 2:1 Films for her project “Europe, She Loves”. The film, which is directed by Jan Gassmann and is now in postproduction, portrays five couples forced to draw deep on their reserves of wit and love as they struggle for everyday survival in a Europe shaken by the economic crisis. “The scripts of both these films stood out for their compelling storytelling and the exceptional sensitivity with which these two very different stories were told. Hopefully we’ll be able to see both of them on the big screen soon,” said IWC CEO Georges Kern.

The presentation of the first-ever Filmmaker Award by the Association for the Promotion of Film in Switzerland was held as part of the IWC gala dinner at the 11th Zurich Film Festival. The two winning projects were also each presented with an IWC replica watches – the Portugieser Automatic in stainless steel with a black dial and a special rotor engravingwith “1st Filmmaker Award Zurich 2015” (Ref. IW500703). The Schaffhausen luxury watch manufacturer had invited over 200 VIP guests from the worlds of film, media, art, politics and commerce to the exclusive event, which was held in line with the motto “For the Love of Cinema” at the Park Hyatt Zurich. Actor Christoph Waltz and director Marc Forster preceded the event with an appearance on the red carpet. After the dinner and the awards ceremony, which was accompanied by the music of the well-known Swiss blues musician Philipp Fankhauser, guests continued the party into the small hours of the morning.

For director Marc Forster, who was also a member of the jury, the Filmmaker Award represents a real milestone for the domestic film industry. “By specifically backing projects in the pre- or post-production stages, we are making an important contribution to the promotion and funding of films,” he explained. The award was set up by the Association for the Promotion of Film in Switzerland, a nonprofit organization founded last December by Marc Forster, IWC CEO Georges Kern, the co-directors of the Zurich Film Festival Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri, and the CEO of Ringier, Marc Walder. Invitations to the public to submit entries for the first Filmmaker Award were published in March 2015. Marc Forster, Georges Kern and Karl Spoerrichose four finalists from the many projects submitted. The other two nominated finalists along with “Und morgen seid ihr tot” and “Europe, She Loves” were the Swiss films “Goliath” and “Waffenläufer” (“The Gun Runner”).

IWC Schaffhausen took on responsibilities as a co-partner of the Zurich Film Festival for the second time. “The partnership with this dynamic festival, which is increasingly establishing itself as an important meeting point for the film industry, is the perfect affirmation of our passion for film and the cinema,” acknowledged Georges Kern. The Swiss luxury Omega replica watches manufacturer had also set the stage for a very special highlight during the festival: under the heading “IWC Schaffhausen Talks To”, selected guests of the Zurich Summit had a chance to listen to in-depth conversations with two world stars of cinema, Marc Forster and ChristophWaltz. “In IWC Schaffhausen, we are fortunate to have found a partner that supports the world of film with a real passion and commitment. The collaboration is a massive asset to our festival – not least because IWC always manages to bring top-level stars to Zurich,” stressed Karl Spoerri.
